One in ten laptops will experience accidental damage, such as a beverage spill, in the first three years of ownership. When these accidents occur, your response can make all the difference.following steps to accomplish this.
1) POWER OFF YOUR COMPUTER (Do this by holding down the power button.)
2) UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER
3) TURN COMPUTER YOUR UPSIDE DOWN
4) REMOVE THE BATTERY
It is important that you DO NOT TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER. Your computer must be completely dry before turning it back on or the electricity will fry any components that are still wet and destroy your system.
Anytime you think you may have gotten water inside your computer, we strongly recommend that you bring it into our store so that we may disassemble it, check for liquid intrusion, and thoroughly dry all components before power is put back through it. This will ensure that, as long as your computer was not fried in the original spill, your computer will power on without destroying itself.
